This is my Home Office/Dining room project 2020/2021. I upcycled the dining room chairs, table and cabinet and painted colours to match the walls. The upholstery was filled with sheeps wool which is naturally fire retardant. The bureau was restored with new glass, handles and keys and the mechanism fixed. I made new cushion covers with organic cotton and the curtains made with organic cotton, hemp cloth and lined with cotton domette for insulation. I kept the old Van Gogh picture. I added new lighting, pictures, had the room decorated with eco friendly paint and wallpaper was printed in UK with FSC wood pulp and water based ink.

 

The freestanding shelving unit is new with reclaimed wood for the wall shelves and cork tiles for the notice board. The old Anglepoise lamp has it's own shelf and is positioned out of the way and can be directed as required. The overall look is eclectic with different aged furniture and the colours are warm and light as it's a north facing room. The colours are zoned to seperate the office and dining area and LED lighting placed inside the cabinet to light up at night.
